There is  a common misconception between translation (translators) and interpreting (interpreters). While interpreting and translation are intrinsically related there is also a very distinct difference between the two.


The art of interpreting deals specifically with interpersonal communication while translation is solely dedicated to the act of translating tangible artifacts like a document or website.


Often times people make the incorrect statement that they need a translator when in reality they are seeking an interpreter to “translate” a conversation from one language to another. It’s tricky right?
